KinetiCore Pilates Therapy was founded by
Carol Chen, a licensed physical therapist
and certified pilates instructor. Carol
has extensive training in movement science.
She graduated with distinction from University
of Michigan with a bachelor of science in
Kinesiology, the study of human movement.
Carol completed her Master of Physical Therapy
(MPT) and went on to earn her Doctor of
Physical Therapy (DPT), both from Northwestern
University. She has continued to seek advanced
training courses in movement dysfunction,
the injury process and rehabilitation, and
has over 14 years of experience in the physical
therapy and wellness field.
Carol's background and interests include
dancing and music, downhill skiing, hiking,
a blackbelt in Taekwondo with national level
competition, and completing three marathons.
She experienced the benefits of pilates
personally in optimizing her athletic performance,
and professionally while working with patients
in her rehabilitation practice. Carol completed
Stott Pilates' rigorous training program
including over 500 hours of instruction
and apprentice teaching, as well as practical
and written examination, to become comprehensively
certified as a mat and apparatus pilates
instructor.
